Cam buckles are made of alloy, offering numerous advantages. Alloy is lightweight and sturdy, making it suitable for securing heavy objects. Furthermore, alloy is durable and corrosion-resistant, ensuring long-lasting performance even in harsh weather conditions. Alloy cam buckles are a durable buckle commonly used in backpacks, gear straps, and other applications. Proper use and installation ensure their reliability and longevity.
1. Understanding the Structure of Alloy Cam Buckles
Cam: The rotating portion with serrations that engages the webbing.
Base (buckle seat): The frame that secures the webbing.
Spring: Provides spring force to ensure the cam is compressed.
Release button: Pressing this releases the cam, allowing the webbing to be adjusted.
2. Installation Steps
Selecting the Webbing Width
Ensure the webbing width matches the cam buckle specifications (commonly available widths are 25mm and 38mm).
Securing the Base End
Thread the webbing through the base frame, fold it back, and secure it with stitching or rivets to form a closed loop. Thread the remaining webbing under the cam. When tightened, the cam teeth automatically engage the webbing.
3. Adjustment and Use
Tightening the Webbing: Pull directly on the free end of the webbing; the cam will lock in one direction.
Loosening the Webbing: Press the release button while simultaneously pulling the webbing outward (overcoming the spring resistance).
Quick Release: Some models allow for quick webbing removal by fully pressing the button and lifting the cam.
4. Precautions
Directional: Ensure the cam teeth face the direction of force applied to the webbing (usually with the "TOP" marking facing upward).
Regular Inspection: Check spring tension, tooth wear, and whether the webbing is stretched or deformed.
Load Limit: Different sizes have different load capacities (e.g., a 38mm buckle can support approximately 50kg). Avoid overloading.
5. Troubleshooting
Webbing Slippage: Clean the teeth or replace worn cams.
Button Stuck: Apply a small amount of lubricant (such as silicone oil).
Loose Installation: Resew the webbing to ensure seam strength (nylon thread is recommended).
